Library resources update

The Proquest ebrary digital book collection is now called ProQuest Ebook Central. The home page has been redesigned, but it is still the great digital book collection with over a million books in a wide range of disciplines. There are helpful how-to videos and Help FAQs on the home page.

Take a look at the library's Research Guides. There are research guides by subject area and many target specific assignments. All of the guides contain fantastic resources and helpful research tips. June 15: YA Authors Julie Eshbaugh, Eleanor Herman, and Erika Lewis, authors of Obsidian and Stars, Reign of Serpents, and Game of Shadows, respectively, discuss how they imagine and write about fantasy worlds "with historical and mythical roots." At One More Page Books in Arlington, VA from 7-8 pm.

June 23: Cookbook author Patricia Tanumihardja, author of Farm to Table Asian Secrets, discusses how to cook delicious vegetarian and vegan Asian dishes with seasonal vegetables. At One More Page Books in Arlington, VA from 7-8 pm.

June 29: Author Marta McDowell discusses her book All the President's Gardens at the Smithsonian's Ripley Center at 6:45. Tickets required.

July 9: Author Neil Gaiman, author of Coraline, The Sandman, and American Gods, will be a Wolf Trap at 8 pm. Tickets required.

July 24: Author Eugenia Cheng, author of Beyond Infinity: An Expedition to The Outer Limits of Mathematics discusses infinity at the Smithsonian's Ripley Center at 6:45 pm. Tickets required.

July 25: Science author Sam Kean, author of The Disappearing Spoon and The Violinst's Thumb, discusses his new book Caesar's Last Breath: Decoding The Secrets of The Air Around Us, a fascinating history of the air we breathe. At the Smithsonian's Ripley Center, 6:45 pm. Tickets required.

August 19: Author David Sedaris, author of humorous books such as Me Talk Pretty Day, will be at Wolf Trap at 8 pm. Tickets required.

August 31: Author Sandhya Menon, author of the romantic comedy When Dimple Met Rishi, will be at One More Page Books in Arlington, VA from 7-8 pm.
